When I started Coppermill Kitchen back in 2012, I didn’t have a business plan—just a love for vintage copper cookware, a passion for craftsmanship, and a deep belief that objects carrying history could bring meaning into the present.
But here’s the truth: Coppermill Kitchen wasn’t born from free time or extra resources. It was born from necessity. At the time, my husband was seriously ill, and I was navigating life as a caregiver and mother. The pressure was immense. I needed to create something of my own—something that could support my children and me in the face of uncertainty. So, I built it from scratch, pouring every ounce of myself into what would become my greatest act of resilience.
In the early days, I did everything—literally. I was the designer, photographer, buyer, packer, and marketer. I traveled across Europe sourcing antique copper cookware—pots, moulds, teapots—and learned how to bring each piece back to life. I studied the history, the markings, and the materials.
One of my first big breakthroughs came just a week after launching Coppermill Kitchen. I traveled to New York with a single copper sample in hand and met with the team at Food52. They made a bold decision—to launch their newly built online shop with only my product. That moment changed everything. I will always be deeply grateful for the opportunities, support, and genuine love that the Food52 team gave me and my brand. They believed in Coppermill Kitchen when it was just beginning and gave me the foundation to grow into what we are today.
Each object I restored taught me something new—not just about its origin, but about my own purpose. Through years of studying historical restoration techniques, I’ve learned how to bring antique pieces back to life while preserving their soul.
I didn’t want to just sell copper. I wanted people to feel something when they brought one of our pieces into their homes. Whether it was a tin-lined saucepan or a hand-hammered jelly mould, it had to evoke warmth, memory, and meaning. These weren’t just objects—they were legacies.
As demand grew, I expanded my antique collections to span all categories—not just cookware, but serveware, barware, bakeware, and decorative accents that reflect the beauty of everyday rituals. What began with just a few antique copper pots transformed into a curated collection of treasures designed to elevate the home.
My retail partnerships also evolved. What started with a single partnership with Food52 eventually grew to include some of the world’s most respected luxury retailers—Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Nordstrom, and Anthropologie. These collaborations helped bring the story of Coppermill Kitchen to more homes, allowing people everywhere to experience the magic of collectible copperware.
Alongside our expanded reach came new offerings. I introduced a silver and copper luxury collection for those seeking refined European-style kitchen decor, and launched a heartfelt line of handcrafted heirloom candles—each one crafted to inspire moments of intention and connection.
It started with a small curated antique collection. Then came the first vintage-inspired reproduction piece: a gelato bowl. That one design opened the door to our now-iconic tin-lined egg ornament, which still remains a bestseller. Today, our collection includes over 45 vintage-inspired SKUs, each one created with the same devotion to heirloom-quality design and old-world charm.
As the brand grew, so did the pressure. Managing international production, maintaining quality, staying creatively inspired—all while raising children—was a mountain I climbed daily. There were real moments of burnout and days when I doubted whether I could keep going.
But I reminded myself why I started: to create something unshakable. Instead of walking away, I paused, reflected, and recommitted with even more clarity. That pause gave me space to evolve Coppermill Kitchen into something greater.
There were times when the challenges felt overwhelming—times when, on paper, it didn’t make sense to keep going. During COVID, supply chains ground to a halt. Manufacturing delays, increased costs of goods (COGS), shipping breakdowns, and rising material prices hit all at once. For a small, independent business, these weren’t just bumps—they were mountains.
I had a choice: stop, or move forward with faith.
What kept me going was the deeper mission behind Coppermill Kitchen. This wasn’t just a business—it was a vision I believed in. I had built this brand by hand, out of necessity, with no roadmap but pure determination. And I wasn’t about to let temporary hardships undo what resilience had built.
There were seasons where I had to scale back, rethink systems, and reimagine production entirely. There were even moments I questioned whether the vision was still possible. But I never stopped showing up. I chose to keep going—not just for my children, my customers, or my team—but for myself. For the woman who started this with nothing but a copper pan and an unwavering dream.
Some of the hardest days gave birth to the most profound breakthroughs. That’s the heartbeat of Coppermill Kitchen: faith, flexibility, and fierce perseverance.
In 2025, I rebranded Coppermill Kitchen not just as a cookware company—but as a lifestyle brand. Our story had always been about more than products. Now, the brand voice, imagery, and offerings reflect that truth.
We expanded our collections to include luxury antique silver and copper, European kitchen decor, and a handcrafted heirloom candle line that captures the same intentional spirit of our copperware. It’s all part of a larger vision—one that invites people to slow down, reconnect with tradition, and find joy in the everyday.
From ornate trays to timeless cookware, Coppermill Kitchen has grown into a source of luxury kitchen decor for those who value authenticity and heritage.
Coppermill Kitchen remains 100% woman-owned and woman-run. I now have a dedicated team of women I deeply admire, from operations to fulfillment to creative direction. Together, we’re shaping a brand that stands for something—authenticity, craft, and a lifestyle rooted in the kind of care you can feel.
This isn’t about trends or mass production. It’s about collectible copperware, soul-filled storytelling, and nurturing a slower, more intentional way of life. Our products are made to support a lifestyle of slow living—where joy is found in everyday rituals and meaningful connection.
Our tagline—”Timeless copper heirlooms, designed to share your story”—isn’t just branding. It’s our truth.
Each piece is memory-making material: a teapot that hosts generations of tea rituals, a baking pan that becomes part of your holiday table, a candle lit in the stillness of a meaningful moment. These pieces are designed to live with you—and then live on.
Copper is the perfect metaphor for what we create: it’s warm, enduring, and more beautiful with time. Just like a life well-lived. We pride ourselves on using traditional copper restoration methods that honor the material’s history and ensure long-lasting beauty.
Every piece of antique copper cookware we find carries stories from kitchens of the past—reminders of meals made with love and time. Rooted in European kitchen tradition, each piece reflects timeless elegance and a love for the artistry of the past.
As we step into this next chapter, Coppermill Kitchen is more than just a place to find antique English cookware or vintage-inspired home goods. It’s a space for those who believe in history, soul, and the magic of gathering.
My goal is to bring exciting new ways to introduce copper as more than just a product—but as a lifestyle people can truly experience. From how we style our homes to how we gather in them, copper becomes a vessel for intentional living, creativity, and connection.
Stay tuned for all the surprises we have in store—from thoughtfully designed collections to meaningful content and moments that inspire. The best is yet to come.
