For centuries the hope chest has been an important tradition in a wedding celebration. Parents of the bride would gift the hope chest to their eldest daughter as a way to collect special items and family heirlooms to store until she’s married. It was also a fun activity to bond with their mothers. Typical items placed inside a hope chest were towels, sheets, blankets and tablecloths as a way for brides to prepare for the practicalities of marriage. Today, the hope chest represents the hope for a bright future full of love for many brides. Our hope chest has been crafted out of the finest walnut wood, making it resilient to wear and tear and to last a very long time. It has been intricately hand-carved to be used for storage or even a coffee table.
