Dating to approximately circa 1890–1910, this antique copper teapot or coffee pot showcases an extraordinary level of decorative craftsmanship typical of the late Victorian period.
The body features a prominent fluted form that wraps entirely around the vessel, giving the pot a sculptural silhouette while reflecting light beautifully across each panel. Encircling both the upper and lower portions of the body are richly engraved floral borders, filled with delicate botanical motifs that create a continuous decorative band around the entire piece.
The lid is equally ornate, with engraved floral detailing across the top surrounding a beautifully embossed domed lid structure. At the center sits a hand-formed copper finial, designed with sculptural detail that echoes the period’s love for intricate metalwork.
The interior is silver-lined, a traditional finish used in antique copper tea and coffee service pieces to protect the copper and make the vessel suitable for brewing and serving beverages.
Additional craftsmanship can be seen at the handle connection, where embossed leaf-form details secure the handle to the body, adding yet another layer of artistry to the design. These small details reflect the attention given to even the structural elements of Victorian tea wares.
Part of the Coppermill Kitchen Heirloom Collection, this piece was selected for its remarkable level of ornamentation and its striking combination of fluted form and elaborate floral engraving.
